In this Startup Stories event, you will meet founders, investors and industry experts talk about strategies, pitfalls and gender bias while investing in a panel discussion. They will share their knowledge and experiences and how they work against biases – from an investor’s and founder’s perspective. And of course you will have the chance to ask all your burning questions and actively participate in the discussion.
The event will happen onsite at University of Zurich in room KOH-B-10. This event is co-organized with the University of Zurich and the Impact Hub Zurich.
Elisa Chiarelli and Jörg Wasmeier are the Co-Founders of Yoordi – scan order pay. Specialized in the topic of digital Product Management Elisa supported startups like comparis.ch and SmallPDF to grow. She embarked on this startup journey with a mission to support hospitality owners get the best out of their Food and Beverage Services. Jörg is an autodidact Software Developer and started his journey as a freelancer for numerous companies like Telekom, HP, Microsoft. After winning the Six Payment Services Hackathon in 2017 with the first prototype, the spark was set to bring Yoordi to life.
Danielle is the CEO and Founder and has more than 10 years of experience in healthcare analytics. Danielle worked previously at Deloitte and ZS Associates, implementing business intelligence solutions for healthcare clients in North America, Europe, and Asia. Danielle graduated from Boston College with a degree in information systems with a focus on healthcare information technology.
Antonia is a founder-turned-investor at Wingman, based in Zurich. Wingman backs Switzerland’s most ambitious startups, investing at Seed stage. Before Wingman, she founded her own startup in Berlin: Careship, a platform to organize care for your loved ones so that seniors can age at home with grace. As the founder and CEO of Careship, she grew the team from 0 to >150 employees and worked with global investors and angels (ie. Spark, Creandum, Atlantic Labs, Ananda). Antonia was born and raised in Vienna, studied Business Administration in Rotterdam and St. Gallen, and is very passionate about shaping a tech ecosystem that is more sustainable, equal and diverse.
Isabelle Siegrist has been supporting startups in development since 2014; the first for 2 years at Startups.ch as CIO and then with her own company builder Sandborn. She supports entrepreneurs and companies from different industries in scaling (from idea validation, product/service development, market entry to growth financing), builds own companies and invests in startups. She was recognized as one of the TOP 100 business women in Switzerland 2018, 2019 and 2020 and is a Forbes 30 under 30 Alumna (2019). Isabelle Siegrist studied Business Innovation at HSG and holds a Major in Social Entrepreneurship from ESCP Europe. She is a coach at Innosuisse and regularly teaches at various colleges and universities on entrepreneurship topics.
Ralph Mogicato has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Singapore. He is co-founder and used to be CEO at the Swiss consultancy Synpulse with over 150 employees mainly focusing on banking and insurance. He is now an angel investor, board member and advisor for startup companies in the technology field with over 20 startups investments. In 2014 he co-founded the Swiss ICT Investors Club (SICTIC) which is by now the largest angel club in Switzerland with over 500 members and over 280 investments. Besides he is a guest lecturer at several universities of applied sciences as well as a lecturer at the University of Zurich.
