Are you thinking about founding your own company? Do you want to meet inspiring female founders? Are you curious about how it is to be a female founder in a male-dominated industry?
We will address these and many more questions in our newly launched female founder event series. You have the possibility to talk to three inspiring female founders about their entrepreneurial journey in small groups of 8-12 people.
Why?
Of all company founders in Switzerland, only approximately 24% are female and the percentage for science- and tech-based startups is even lower. We want to show aspiring female founders that there are many inspiring female role models out there.
Who can participate?
Women interested in entrepreneurship and women empowerment who are considering starting their own business; especially motivated and ambitious members of a Swiss university or University of Applied Sciences (students, doctoral students, postdocs, professors etc.). As the event is organised together with the University of Zurich, we will focus on science- and tech-based sectors.
Johanna is the founder of Diversify, a consulting company specialized in recruiting diverse teams. Through her work at Diversify, she realized how many women have difficulties to sell their full potential. She is a true gender bias expert and has a broad network in the female entrepreneur ecosystem.
Alexandra and Anja are the authors of “Die Gründerinnen”, where they portray 27 different Swiss female founders. With their book, they want to give innovative female founders a face – and create female role models. That’s why they made sure that the book covers a wide range of topics from medicine and fashion to IT and finance.
Luiza is dedicated to transform healthcare communication to help clinicians to deliver the best in class patient care – and actually save lives. Throughout her career she gained both corporate and startup experience and has 10+ years leading and developing businesses. In her opinion there are way too few women in the startup ecosystem in Switzerland. She is committed to offer her support to help other women become the best version of themselves.
After completing her doctorate in the field of entrepreneurship, Dorina was managing director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at the HSG for four years, which supports students in founding their own start-ups.
In 2016, she and her partner Sascha Bührle founded Piavita AG, a medtech start-up, which aims to revolutionize veterinary medicine. Within three years Piavita has grown to 35 employees at three locations, has obtained financing from renowned investors from Switzerland and Silicon Valley and is now on the market in 7 European countries and the USA.
Nina is a startup investor for early stage startups. She is looking for technology ventures impacting climate, health and food from Switzerland and Europe. Besides founding her own company Reinhart Capital, she is a board member of a variety of companies such as SICTIC and Camp Bizsmart.
