Female Founder Event
Are you thinking about founding your own company? Do you want to meet inspiring female founders? Are you curious about how it is to be a female founder in a male-dominated industry?
We will address these and many more questions in our newly launched female founder event series. You have the possibility to talk to three inspiring female founders about their entrepreneurial journey in small groups of 8-12 people.
Of all company founders in Switzerland, only approximately 24% are female and the percentage for science- and tech-based startups is even lower. We want to show aspiring female founders that there are many inspiring female role models out there.
Who can participate?
Women interested in entrepreneurship and women empowerment who are considering starting their own business; especially motivated and ambitious members of a Swiss university or University of Applied Sciences (students, doctoral students, postdocs, professors etc.). As the event is organised together with ETH Zurich, we will focus on science- and tech-based sectors.
Important: Due to the current Covid-19 situation we moved the event to an online session! Registered participants will receive an invitation to the online webinar. We would have loved to welcome you in person, but count on your understanding. We are looking forward to a great online session with all of you!

“I strongly believe that a diverse population of entrepreneurs creates the best environment to foster innovation. When we complement each other, we benefit from a much bigger pool of experiences and perspectives. At the same time, brave entrepreneurs need role models. We believe what we see, so for women to get a stronger foothold in the Swiss Startup Ecosystem, we need female leaders to inspire other women and guide the way. Women AND men need to have a vested interest in putting female entrepreneurs on the map, in making them visible and encouraging them to find a more equal position in an environment populated by men. Such a shift will be of great advantage to both genders in creating an innovative marketplace and a forward-thinking society.”
Séverine is Co-Founder and CCO of Idun Technologies.
“As a first time founder, my only two expertises are liking the feeling of not knowing how to do it and asking questions. I have the chance that I really like the problem we are solving at IDUN. Understanding the human body and recognizing individual trends fascinates me. It’s important to be creative in science, to find new solutions; diversity in a team helps the matter. I also experienced a general calmness and respect when the teams are mixed. However, I think the reason why there are fewer women in tech can be found earlier in education. “
