The ieLab offers a comprehensive program of services, educational programs, networking opportunities and individual coaching for outstanding young researchers with entrepreneurial ambitions. This is a vital element of ETH’s approach to making its research results available for the economy and our society, fully exploiting their commercial value.
At the same time, the ieLab develops the business acumen of the young ETH entrepreneurs, by connecting them with experienced personalities from the business world, potential alliance partners from industry and likely customers for the innovative products of their startups.
In 2017, ETH entrepreneurs started 25 new companies; eight of these came from the Pioneer Fellowship program. Currently, the ETH ieLab supports 15 Pioneer Fellowship projects at the ETH ieLab and 5 ETH spin-offs rent office or lab space.
